“廣州將在三年內全部換上LED路燈，全省將在五年內換上LED燈。”據了解，廣東省成立綠色產業投資基金，用金融投資的形式，總投資250億元，推廣LED路燈的使用，預計10到15年可收回成本。據悉，LED 燈特別適用于公共場所，耗電量比同光效的白熾燈少80%。待到LED路燈基本普及后，LED室內照明等其他環保工程都將提上日程表。
